Dear Doctors. My girlfriend started taking birth control pills yesterday. We had unprotected sex today. She is still taking the birth control pills as recommended. Does she have a risk of getting pregnant? Should she take emergency contraception? My best regards

That would depend on the date of her last menstrual period. Usually these pills are started from day 2/3 of periods. If she has started to take it this way then there is no chance of pregnancy. And yes she should continue to take it for 21 days without missing any pills.
