Beta thalassemia minor both parents.

Hi sir first baby boy was identified as beta thalassemia major as we both parents are minor carriers. So just wanted to know if any chance baby boy will get same identified as thal major if tried for 2nd time.. Just wanted to know this disease will impact if baby boy will take birth and less chance for baby girl

Hello there. I can understand your concern. I understand your question now. Let me tell you. Since both of you are thalassemia minor, the outcomes could be 1. 25percent chance of having thalassemia major. 2. 50 percent chance of having thalassemia minor And 3. 25 percent chance of having a normal child. There is no way to say for certain what exactly the outcome would be unless some test is done.
