I had an accident on my bike. Because of this my thumb bone got dislocated and fractured. I had an operation in which 2 k -wires were inserted and had my hand plastered. I want to know how long will this plaster needs to stay on my hand and in how much time i can again write.

The plaster usually stays for 3-4 weeks and once the plaster is removed the operating doctor may take an X-ray to see condition of healing and may decide to remove the wires at the same time or may be later However once the wires are out you should undergo physiotherapy for two weeks and then you should be able to write comfortably As the joint was dislocated you may have some restrictions of movement
