A temporary inability to move or speak while falling asleep or upon waking. Episodes involve not being able to speak or move while falling asleep or upon waking. This usually lasts one or two minutes and is often frightening. Such are symptoms of Sleep Paralysis.
Consult a Psychiatrist may have you do an overnight sleep study if your problem is disturbing your sleep. This study is called a polysomnogram. It charts your brain waves, heart beat, and breathing as you sleep.
