Barrage laser use for wwop in retina

Sir Iam 40 years old and was myopic patient under gone laser 10 years back,now catract has been diagnosed in RE,upon retina exam doctor told there is wwop in both eyes ,should barrage laser is needed at this time ,and whether retina can detach from wwop ,. Please help so that I can go for catract surgery

Hello, WWOP per se may not need a barrage LASER. But since a cataract surgery is being planned, some practioners advocate a prophylactic LASER as a fail safe. Modern day cataract surgeries are extremely safe procedures, so the decision to perform a barrage LASER rests with the doctor pertaining to your case
