I got to know about this when I went to haircut, it wasn't there last month... Please help, do I need to consult doctor or applying medicine would do fine?

It is called alopecia areata. It is considered as an autoimmune process. Consult a dermatologist as soon as possible. You may need to get few blood tests done and a dermatologist will give you the best possible treatment.
