Baby with Recurring cold

I have one and half year old son, he gets recurrent cold. The cold period last always more than 10 days. During cold, since dairy products should be avoided, I get very less options of food item to feed. Also his appetite goes low during cold leaving him sick and thin. I am very much worried about his degrading health.
