My baby(Age: 4days) is having Jaundice since last 1 day with bilrubin level 15.78 Weight: 3kg Height: 48cms Does he needs photo therapy? If it is required how many hours photo therapy required? How many grms will reduce in phototherapy per hour?

This level is moderately high for this age and weight. Repeat the test in 24 hours,if increased,admit for phototherapy. Expose the baby to sunlight streaming in through glass windows early morning and late evening,do this if admission is not required too. Ensure regular breastfeeds and hygiene. No way to predict fall of bilirubin levels during phototherapy.
