14 months old has been not responding to name and has eye contact, no social smiles but  otherwise he is playful, likes to go out, loves to eat, babbles says da da,  shows a gesture by his hand, plays a peek a boo, takes mobile puts on our hand to play songs, Loves tingling. Since I have doubt he is been having autistic symptoms I shown him to pediatrics,. He says he is too small to diagnose now it seems he is anemic hence his growth and development is slower. After one month of vitcofol and D3 medicine his eye contact imrpoved  and smiles sometimes. Does it is possible that brain development can be delayed by 6 to 8 months?

Autism is a lifelong developmental disorder which affects social and communication skills. Did you had any complications in pregnancy or during child birth? Any body in family has autism or learning difficulties or slow learner’s. It’s difficult to asses at present age but once the child develops speech and language if you are worried then assessment can be done. If child has problems with communication Like monotonous talking , odd voice, awkward or odd postures. , ackward interaction with other children, lack of awareness of social rules.
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist who specialises in Child mental health for assessment

Autism is a life long disorder, and is diagnosed with multiple  observations. Currently the child has shown some improvement with the medications given by the paediatrician, I recommend that you please talk to the child a lot preferably in one language only. Also make the child play with other children . Observe his language improvement. See whether the child understands spoken matters and how the interaction with others is etc. If there is no improvement in the next 6-8 months, kindly consult a child  psychiatrist preferably or Psychiatrist
