Am explaining as per guidelines of ICD 10- childhood autism, asperger syndrome comes under pervasive development disorders .
Autism areas affected are interaction, communication, restricted or repitative behr. So as said here , he or she might be having the skills but would be finding difficult to use it . From what u said child can speek but its not effective.. so he needs speech therapy and other sessions as soon as possible … focus should not entirely be put on the language and verbal communication . There are other social and emotional skills child need to cope with . There is a need for comprehensive evaluation of child . Nimhans bangalore is a well known centre in india. There are other centres as well based on your place… but key is its not a consultation that makes the difference , its the constant effort from parents and child along with adherence to the treatment which makes the difference . Iam sure you can make a difference
