I would want to know about the Long term side effects of Catheterization (device closure method), post treatment risks and life expectancy after this surgery if addressed for a female at the age of 25. #Will the tissue gets closed over the closure device in few years? #Will this kind of patient need to be in blood thinners for lifetime or can the medications be gradually slowed down & stopped? #Any conflict of drugs/complications during pregnancy & Delivery? # Any Risks like erosion in a longer period?

In general no side effects Life expectancy is no different when compared to others. The adjacent tissues overgrow and cover the device. There is no need for blood thinners except for the first few weeks of anti platelets. The person can get pregnant. The ill fitted device can cause erosion and its very rare.
