Arthroscopic shoulder surgery

I'm a cricketer from pune and I've gone through arthroscopic shoulder surgery for labral tear(11 to 7 O'clock) and SLAP tear on 26th July'18 and doctor told me that it would take approx. 1 year to recover completely and start bowling again but I don't feel it right to invest one complete year just in recovery as it would destroy my career as I'm already 24+. I've seen many sportsman go through surgery and recover in 4-5 months. Doctor asked me to visit after every 3 weeks and everytime I meet him, he's giving me only couple of exercises for next 3 weeks. Now I'm doing pendulum exercise and another one where I lie down on my back with folded legs and hold a stick in my hands and try to take it upward and even backwards as long as it doesn't pain and I felt pain doing that on first 2 days only and I can take it backwards daily and it doesn't pain. I've booked an appointment for physio on 5th sept though. I want to know how much time it would take to recover if I give my 100%

Well the thing here is you need to see a proper sports or a musculoskeletal physio...or a sports medicine professional... Recovery depends on many factors.... Like any previous injury history Any supplement history Scheduled play in a particular season And your diet?
Next Steps
since i guess you dont have pain...there should be no problem in starting your Rehabilition... i really cant comment on General shoulder rehab protocol if thats what your ortho/physio has given....but tailor made exercise are the need of the hour for you for early recovery....also it becomes all the more important if you are a bowler.

Greetings, you are wasting time doing exercise for recovery on your own.
Next Steps
hire a physio as your trainer for next 6 months and you can get back to your routine with this training program.  shoulder is a high mobility joint, hence retuning to sports takes at least 6-7 months but if you have a good rehabilitation plan designed by physio you can reduce your time for recovery.
