Previously 4 ARVs were received on days 0,3,8 and 16 each (3rd and 4th doses delayed by 1 day respectively due to non availability of same brand of vaccine, was told 1-2 days deviation acceptable in 3rd and 4th dose). ARV was started on 30/11/2021 and 4th dose on 16/12/2021. 5th dose not given as dog was alright. Now after nearly 8 months, a rat bite occured with blood visible. Since 5tg dose not taken previously, I understand that 5 ARVs will have to be given. Will HRIG also need to be given or since 4 ARVs were given previously, HRIG is not required?

ARV administration is not recommended for rodent bites All you have to do is wash the wound thoroughly with water and soap Have a shot of TT injection if not done for more than 3 years Otherwise it's fine
