LIS surgery was done 5 years ago for anal fissure. Then no problem in anus. But 20 days ago  without any hard stool I feel burning sensation only when washing after latrine but no bleeding during motion. In the meantime I have used smuth cream for last 8 days but problem was increasing. Then I consulted a general surgeon who saw my anus and told a pit was created at 11'O' clock position. Then He advised me 1- Escot cream 2- Nuflam - TH 8 mg and sitz bath  for 2 weeks. After abiding his advice just 5 days the depth of the pit at 11 "O" clock position has reduced as seen by my Friend and I also feeling less burning sensation  But when I asked the surgeon is it fissure ?? He told no it is a pit just at the mouth of the anus but not in anal canal. My query is if it is not fissure then why the above medicines are responding ???

Fissure is a break in the lining of mucosa of the anal canal What the doctor says doesn't seem like that The treatment given contains analgesics and muscle relaxants Pain will lead to anal spasm as a result of which there will be more abrasion due to stools leading to trauma The medicines which you have recieved are analgesics and muscle relaxants which will relieve the spasm and thus the resulting trauma . This results in healing of the wound Hope this solves your doubts
