Had an ankle sprain, while playing a volleyball as when I jumped over the net, taken a MRI report,(please refer the MRI report image is added) in that it's showing a partial ligaments tear at the right ankle, and got a POP Cast done for the ankle to 8 weeks. Can you please tell me is it required to go for MRI to know that ligaments is fully healed, to get back to normal as soon as possible. Thank you

You have had a partial tear of the medial and lateral ligaments which is like an ankle sprain. You have not indicated the reasons for the MRI or the time from injury when this scan was done. Usually acute injuries heal uneventful and the cast is really helpful. However if there is persistent instability or pain, I would advise a proper examination, and maybe a repeat scan. If there are no symptoms then it is assumed that healing is complete and nothing needs to be done.

Generally not required. Follow up regularly with your doctor. In future if he feels another MRI has to be done, then get it. Get well soon.
