Acid Reflux in Esophagus

I have been suffereing from sore throat for more than 6 weeks and consult an ENT, diagnised with GERD, acid reflux in upper esophagus , prescribed some antacids and some other tablets, i have still suffering from wound in throat and difficult to swollo, is that a serious disease?how long it take to regrow the damaged tissues? Is that irreversible?

You seem to be suffering from reflux laryngopharyngitis which is type of acidity related disorder. You may need to take anti reflux medications for few weeks for long term benefits. Along with medications minor lifestyle modifications are required
