A positive Mantoux test indicates Past OR Current infection with TB. This result has to be clinically correlated by your physician.
Mantoux test is more of a test of prognostic significance but it has limited validity due to lack of specificity. There are some situations where the results may come false positive/false negative. Interpretation of the test results also vary depending upon the person's medical risk factors.
