8 month old with Fluid behind eardrums

My 8 month old takes1.25ML 3x day of Bromfed DM since Friday night, for fluid behind eardrums. Dr has said since he was 4 weeks old that he was congested. He has woke up every 2.5-3 hrs through the night since i can remember. First night he took Bromfed slept 5hrs straight through. Now he will barely sleep at all again
