In viral fever, fever can reoccur in every 6 hours and usually lasts for 3 days. But sometimes viral fever can last for 5 to 7 days also. Signs of viral fever are: -High fever to start with (but can be low grade too) -fever coming at regular intervals usually every 6 hours -inbetween fever child well. Child becomes active and playful -fever responds with paracetamol -decreasing trend from 3rd day -other generalised symptoms like weakness, bodyache, headache, cough, cold -others in the family member are having it, infact many in the community have it. Danger signs: not taking liquids, irritable or lethargic (ie change in behaviour even when fever is down), decrease urine frequency

Viral fever usually take 5 - 7 days natural course for recovery.
