From last few years I was constantly under the painful condition of lower back.off and on I used to take some pain killers during my journey. As soon as effect of medicine wean off again pain appears. Initially I consulted with orthopaedic surgeon who suggested me to get done x-ray of lower back,hip joint neck region. Simply conveyed me nothing is there,it all because of travel, if you stop frequently travel, you will be alright, just continue some pain killers and muscle relaxant, calcium and vitamin D preparation for 4 weeks,along with some exercises for that he sent me to physiotherapist, as practice some relaxation exercises. I tried all together.but no effects. Similarly following their instructions, but no out come,
Some of my friend told me if slipdisc once happened its never cure,only rest is remedy. I was upset totally. Met some acupuncture expert.but no effects.
After 6 months I met with some Neuro Dr he advice me to had MRI LS spine,some rest like vitamin B12 vitamin D and some other investigations. He told me there is some thing serious about your spine,there is problem to nerves and disc .for that you have to take some medicine and rest for 1 month only must be bed rest.despite of trial for another 4 month's. I did find any improvement.
One fine morning one of known from Dubai told me if you don't find anything after long trial, better you should consult Dr Sanjay Sharma, from Jaipur. He is spine -pain management specialist.he will help you.
We fix our appointment and meet him after careful clinical and radiological examinations of my MRI. He ask me some relevant information about course of problem. Told me that there is annular tear at L4-5 level. And told me that all conservative treatment has been tried by you already. So no trial shou6 attempt.
He suggested me do minimal invasive procedures like transforaminal endoscopic discectomy. They will do under local anesthesia and sedation. With few mms incision. Next day his team of neurosurgeon and pain physician discussion every possibility. Agreed to perform. It was really amazing experience. Didn't feel any pain during procedure,and discharged from hospital after 24 hours without any evidence of any pain.. one thing I would like to say we should consult a speciality specific doctors who are experienced in that specific field.because Neuro science and pain management is team work.so they diagnosed aptly. Doctor suggested us for Vertebroplasty, which we have never heard before. With the help of Doctor's explanation and search engines, we got to know about the treatment.
We consulted doctors in Faridabad as well however all doctors suggested for Fixation surgery which includes 3 months bed rest and no guarantee of success rate.
Post considering all the therapies and treatment, we decided to go for vertebroplasty and yes, it was a successful surgery by Dr. Sanjay Sharma. It's been a week and my mom is recovering.
I would suggest to all those who are going through back pain and do not want to go for fixation surgery. It would cost you a bit but not more than your health and safety.
A big Thank You to Dr. Sanjay Sharma to being patient with me and my questions. He completely understands the patient situation and suggests for the best.
