Wrong positive pregnancy

My wife had her last period on 26/10/2016. She had always had 28days cycle which was regular. This month, Nov 2016, she missed her periods & on 27/11/2016, I CAN test showed positive result. On 28/11/2016, we consulted gynaec who asked to do certain blood tests not immediately though. She told us to get a scan done on 13/12/2016 & to get the blood test report along with the scan report. On 30/12/2016, my wife started bleeding like her regular periods. We consulted the doctor the same evening who asked to get the blood HCG test done immediately and the report to be shown in an hour. The HCG level was 9.76mlU/mL. The doctor saw the report and informed that my wife wasn't pregnant and advised us not to have intercourse until my wife has her next periods and also told us to plan for baby after 3 months. Was it an early miscarriage or had my wife not conceived? If it wasn't a miscarriage & just hormonal imbalance causing period delay, why do we need to wait for 3 months to plan for baby?

Hello, Repeat the urine pregnancy test after 7 days . Take folic acid tablets if required.

There's some confusion with dates. Still I'll try to help. Probably the kit was faulty and you got a false positive result. ßhCG remains raised even after abortion. So most likely it was a delayed period. No need to worry. You can always try again. There's no need to wait. Have her evaluated for irregular periods if it happens again

First of all you should've have repeated the urine test after a week. Secondly december has just begun and you have mentioned 30 Dec which is wrong I guess. Even then since the b HCG is negative you can't treat this as abortion so don't worry just go ahead and forget this whole episode... You can try for another Have tab Folic acid.
