1. Peeling is a treatment where the superficial skin (epidermis) is peeled off (not visibly but at a microscopic level) by applying different types of acids (alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy) so that we can get rid of the 'blemished 'skin at a faster rate. Peeling basically helps form new skin. But remember that new skin(epidermis only) is constantly being formed naturally... what the peel does is that it speedens the process of new skin(epidermis only)regeneration. Side effects like redness, dryness , minor burns can occur but the chances are very less if the person doing the peel is an allopathic dermatologist . 2. Yes, you can certainly go ahead with ONLY TREATMENT. Peels are adjuvant treatments . Only difference is that your treatment might take a longer time than it would've taken along with peels.
