It your wound is open then serous discharge is normal and good for wound healing. But if you're wound is closed then it may be wound infection.

Usually watery discharge is normal after a surgery involving open wound. But white discharge can be Pus. And as you say there is increased pain, there is a chance of infection and pus.
Next Steps
Visit your surgeon and get examined.
Health Tips
Don't panic. If the pus is discharging via open wound and not getting collected inside, then nothing to worry about. You may need antibiotics.

Postop wounds usually give serous fluids - which is clear watery and it is normal. Semi - white fluid as you told indicates purulent kind of discharge. Consult your surgeon asap .
