What could be possible issues?

My friend started smoking at around 12, I think. And he’s 16 now, he still does it but is trying to stop. He got tuberculosis in the middle due to smoking (which is now 100% okay). Will he lose any years from his life? And if yes, how many? And if he stops right now, will the lungs heal themselves completely?

It is high time your friend stopped smoking as he already had its bad effects in the form of tuberculosis. Stopping atleast now will prevent further damage to lungs. As he is young right now he may not feel any discomfort now ,as age advances the problems will come out. Regarding reduction in lifespan , it is difficult to predict. If he doesn't stop atleast now the quality of life is going to be effected.
