Weight loss by Ayurveda

I have a torn ligament and thus cannot exercise. Can Ayurveda help me lose weight? I'm almost 8 kgs overweight as per my BMR.

High-fiber carbohydrates include whole-grain breads and cereals, whole-wheat pasta, bulgur wheat, barley, brown rice, and beans....
