Warm compress for long periods or not??

Can i apply warm compress everyday to vaginal lip?? Or one shouldnt apply warm compress for long periods? I was said i am having bartholinitis.. Later on got reduced without bursting with medicines.. But pain and swelling of one vaginal lip is present.. So can i continue doing warm compress?? Or warm compress causes side effects of done for longer time? Help Not married
