Even if you get rid of glasses for distance,You  will have to use glasses for near ,As the surgery for near is still not established.

just continue progressive spects until you get cataract then multi focal lens implantation in cataract surgery you can get rid of spects

Hello A. LASIK surgery will help you to get rid of glasses for distance vision but you will need glasses for near work B. Presbyopic laser is also an option C. Another possibility is clear lens extraction with multifocal IOL

A good option for you may be to undergo an early cataract surgery and have multi-focal/ extended vision IOLs inside the eyes. Decision may be taken after a discussion regarding your profession/life style/power/ expectations on outcomes etc LASIK a preferred option may be out. .
