First question: The swelling in the knees can be due to a multitude of conditions. Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis amongst others. Unless she has hurt or twisted her knees, she can do gentle walking to begin with. However an assessment by a Rheumatologist is recommended so that the diagnosis can be confirmed.
