Vagina feels dry while masturbating

Hi So when ever I try to masturbate my vagina feels dry., I'm not able to insert more than one finger inside me. It pains real bad and I get burning sensation. Am I doing something wrong? Can you suggest me on how to do it in the right way? And any ointment or gels that can be used to make the hole a bit bigger?
