A full course of Rabies vaccination may provide protection for upto 5 years. Estimation of anti-rabies antibody level in the blood may help in this regard. A single booster dose of rabies vaccine once a year for those at high risk is harmless and may provide adequate protection.
Tetanus vaccine is needed when there is open wound. But a single booster dose can be protective for upto 5 years.
