1. No vaccine is 100% effective. Neither the vaccine given to the dog, nor the one which is taken by humans against dog bite
2. Rabies is untreatable disease. If contracted it has 100% mortality.
3. The wounds on head, face and limbs are graded as severe grade 3 bites.
4. There is no harm in taking antirabies treatment even if the dog is not infected.
5. The symptoms of rabies in a dog, may be manifested even after 7-10 days of contracting the disease, but it May transfer the disease much before that.
Keeping these facts in mind, I would recommend vaccination to all the patients with h/o dog bite
