My mother underwent a Debridement surgey on her left inner thigh last week following a few conventional dressings doctor suggested VAC therapy for the wound to heal. The doctor has asked us to keep the VAC dressing on for 5 days. The problem is, since the wound is on her inner thigh the dressing borders are really close to her urethra because of which (a few) drops of urine always gets on the dressing despite all precautions. I'm worried because the wound covers her entire left inner thigh will there be any adverse effects? In what other ways can we facilitate her urination?
