Urine Creatinine

Hello Doctors. Good Evening. Hope you all are doing good. Kindly let me know what is the basis that a Doctor suggests for dialysis. Is it the high urine protein or high creatinine? I am submitting a paper on CKD. My paper submission is through the Univeristy Of Stanford. I am stuck in India coz of lockdown and I can't visit any Doctors nearby who can guide me with little hints. Pls Pls help me. If I don't get my answer Stanford University would Cnxl my overral paper. I have been working really hard to submit my papers past two yrs. Only one page is left. Appreciate your help in advance. Thnx

Hello It's creatinine level. There are much more parameters to start dialysis.

high creatinine or protein is not an indication for dialysis (hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis). Following are the some of the indications for dialysis Severe metabolic acidosis 1. Hyperkalemia 2. Pericarditis 3. Encephalopathy 4. Intractable volume overload 5. Failure to thrive and malnutrition 6. Peripheral neuropathy 7. Intractable gastrointestinal symptoms 8. In asymptomatic adult patients, a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of 5-9 mL/min/1.73 m², [5] irrespective of the cause of the CKD or the presence of absence of other comorbidities
