Uncontrolled High Sugar Level & HbA1c

I was diagnosed with diabetes 1.5 years ago (since 2025). At that time, my sugar levels were as follows: Fasting 274 and HbA1c 11.9. I consulted a naturopathic doctor who did not prescribe any medication but gave me B12 and D injections. After three months, my test results were:- Fasting 285 and HbA1c 11.7, showing no improvement, so I stopped treatment. On October 9, 2026, I had another blood test (kindly refer the summary attached for latest blood test report). Currently, my fasting blood sugar is 372 and HbA1c is 12.5, which is severe. I consulted a diabetologist who recommended insulin, but I prefer not to take it. The doctor also prescribed metformin and a cholesterol medication (10 mg, name unclear; my LDL level is 121) along with D3. The tests "NOT MENTIONED" in the attached summary are "NORMAL" Questions: 1. Is it possible to normalize my sugar levels without insulin? 2. What medications do you recommend based on my report? 3. Is this serious? 4. What to do and what not?

Your fasting sugar of 372 and HbA1c of 12.5 are both significantly above target, and sugar is already spilling into your urine. Insulin is often the fastest and safest way to bring a reading this high down. Tablets alone usually work more slowly. Your vitamin D and B12 are mildly low too, which likely adds to your tiredness. The sugar still needs attention first.
Next Steps
Please don't stop or change what your diabetologist has already prescribed on your own. Whether insulin is really needed is a decision only they can make with your full picture. Go back to your diabetologist or endocrinologist soon to restart treatment, since three months were already lost without improvement last time.
Health Tips
See a doctor urgently if you feel very thirsty, pass urine far more than usual, or feel drowsy or confused. These can mean the sugar is still climbing.
