Which mesh is good in umblical open hernia surgery.. is it one within the muscles or one just above?

It all depends on the size of hernia, pt preference and recurrence if any. If the defect is small, it can be closed without mesh however 8f the defect is large than better to put mesh.

There is nothing good or bad in surgery ever Mesh is only to form fibrosis So you asking such questions unless u dealing one case by your own So let ur surgeon decide what is to be done Unless u are doing surgery
