Umbilical hernia 1.5 month baby

Hello, My baby is nearing two months old, and we noticed his belly button is swollen. Our doctor mentioned it as umbilical hernia. When we push it down, it does go inside, but feels kind of squishy and watery - like some air bubbles are trapped inside. We are worried about it, although doctor did say it'll go away on its own after 1-2 years. What are the symptoms to look out for to ensure this hernia is harmless and not cause of concern?

the child is having umbilical hernia which is very common in children and goes away by maximum 2 years of age. with growing age it regresses and goes inside it does not require any intervention or treatment before 2 years if it is non complicated. meet your doctor once who will tell you whether any intervention or wait and watch policy is required.
