Trouble breathing when laying down flat

Do I possibly have Gastroesophageal reflux disease? I have been experiencing many stomach problems for the past 2 months such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and possibly even gastritis. I have noticed that when I lay down flat I cannot breathe as well as I can normally. I feel like I can still fall asleep but I'm worried that stomach acid will creep into the esophagus and possibly enter the lungs, particularly during sleep, and cause swelling of the airways. I do have asthma but it has not been a problem for me in several years. The only other thing I have is anxiety, but this shortness of breath is not caused by anxiety, it is only apparent when I lay down straight. I did experience what felt like an acid reflux 2 nights before, where I had a warm feeling in my abdominal area I had never felt before. What should I do? Does it sound like I have Gastroesophageal reflux disease?
