Hello, I am 16 week pregnant. I had my nst scan in which my placenta is low. Than in 15 week I had triple marker test which shows Trisomy 21 high risk 1:98. Trisomy 18 and open neural tube defect are at low risk. Can Trisomy 21 risk can be lowered down with medicine? What other test can be conduct for its confirmation? How this effect feutus?

hi, amniocentesis folllowed by chromosomal analysis is confirmatory. there is no any medicine which reduce risk as it is genetic abnormality

Explanation: If your trisomy 21 risk is high than ask your doctor, what was NT means in which range. Your age is 27 so it's the lower risk for trisomy. Means cumulation of your age related risk, your NT level and triple marker give you calculated risk. Now come to your case :As you mentioned your triple marker s/o trisomy 21 risk is 1:98 you must confirm it by Amniocentesis or cordocentesis.
