Is there any reason why you want to take the metalwork out? If it is not causing you any pain or any pressure on skin or discomfort with mobility, then you can leave the metalwork in. Always remember, every surgery carries a risk. There is a risk of infection, delayed healing or even refracture. If it is not causing you a problem, then leave it alone.

Although I have not seen your x rays, but if the fracture has united well, without any complications, it should be safe to remove the implants now
