Not all dogs are rabid. They get infected when an infected animal bite it.
The early symptoms (prodromal phase) of rabies are subtle, last 2 to 3 days, and include:
change in tone of dog's bark
chewing and licking bite site
fever
loss of appetite
subtle behavior changes
Apprehension, nervousness, anxiety, solitude, and a fever may be present. A change in personality may occur. Friendly dogs might become shy or irritable and may snap. Aggressive dogs may become affectionate and docile.
