What you are suffering from is Hashimoto's Autoimmune Thyroiditis, an immune system disease which affects predominantly women (6:1 female-male ratio). This is an incurable condition, but can be well controlled by
thyroid hormone replacements. As long as you are taking the right amount of thyroxine (check your
TSH every 3 months-when you have last 10 tablets remaining in your bottle), you should have no problem whatsoever. What you are taking is a hormone replacement NOT A MEDICINE...CONSIDER IT MORE LIKE
VITAMIN WHEN TAKEN FOR A VITAMIN DEFICIENCY. The only precaution you need to do is to get a USG Thyroid scan done every 2 years as there is a small possibility of thyroid cancer especially after you turn 45(menopause)...the scan will be able to spot this changes and if that happens, you need to go in for Total thyroidectomy.
Just avoid the Brassica family of vegetables in your diet [cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, horseradish, kohlrabi(knol-kohl or navil-cosu) and turnips].
None of the alternative pathies have a solution for this. Thease do not fall into the trap of quacks who will counsel you otherwise. A fool & his money are soon parted!
