I am suffering from thyroid ophthalmology from one year, wherein my right eye is swollen (proptosis). I have done thyroid function test 3 times in last one year and my t3, t4, tsh tests are normal, however TSH Receptor Antibodies is more than the biological ref range. I have consulted multiple Endocrinologists and oculoplastic surgeons in this last one year, however I have got mixed advice from these consultations. Some have advised me to opt for steroids and some have not, hence I am bit skeptical as steroids has its own side effects. Can someone please advise me on below question Can this be cured without steroids? How long will it take to go back to normal? Will my eye become normal? If left untreated, will the condition worsen? Can I opt for oculoplasty surgery without steroids? Is there any risk in this surgery?
