Throat pain cold nose scarring

My 5 year old son developed throat pain, followed by 100F fever which showed up only at night. Has cold, yellowish eyer boogers when wakes up, mucus around nostrils which lead to some scarring due to continuous rubbing or what not sure. No fever from last three days. Need for concern? Kindly suggest.
