I have a friend that's been fasting and she decided to end it. The day after she did that, her period started. She's concerned the two things are connected. Are they?

No this is not connected to each other.May be her due date was there that's why she has got  period..If she is having normal and regular cycle then she should calculate the date and count it whether it is correct or not.
