I hope it's not serious as you are imagining it. May be the yellow spots are something else n not thin enamel. Because enamel defects manifest itself in many different forms. What I genuinely advise is please see a dentist n first confirm those spots as intrinsic staining or tartar or something g else. Then accordingly treatment options can be chosen. Hope this helps.
