Syphilis Treatment
I got exposed with syphilis 18 months before.
Today I tested for syphilis and it is positive.
RPR 1:1
TPHA 1:2560
Doctor prescribed me antibiotics orally and injections which are alternative to penicillin. I have finished the Antibiotics course.
I wanted to know whether I am positive to neurosyphilis also. I am afraid of lumbar puncture. Is there any blood test which detects neurosyphilis.
Searching a doctor for neuro syphilis in Mumbai.
Doctor please help me I am not getting any doctor in Mumbai for the neurosyphilis.
You can check your response to antibiotics by getting a repeat of TPHA levels. If they are still high , consult your doctor , you might need further course of antibiotics. And you can get a MRI brain for possiblity of Neurosyphillis but best method is lumbar puncture. MRI is non specific
