Swollen lymph nodes in neck

I have a swollen lymph node that goes from under the ear till the start of the throat. It is hard to touch and pains when I keep my head in a certain position. There is also ringing in the ears and the ear feels a bit muffled. Please suggest the next steps. I had searched over the internet and according to it, this feels like something very serious.

since when you have swollen lymph node? if it's short duration then it's because of infection only
