Swollen lymph node more than three weeks

I noticed a swollen lymph node after a sore throat in right neck. I had taken 5 days Azithromycin for sore throat and then 5 days of Augmentin 1 gm 5days but the lymph node is still same and movable in right neck. I also noticed right side of my throat is also swollen and I can feel a hard lump above collarbone. After all these I did USG neck. I have shared the report picture. Do I need further investigation or do I need a FNAC? Is it something serious

Hello, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat, MS (ENT). As you mentioned, you initially experienced a sore throat followed by the development of a right-sided neck swelling. This is commonly seen in viral or bacterial infections. Your neck ultrasound has revealed bilateral mild enlargement of posterior cervical lymph nodes, which appears to be inflammatory in nature. However, since you have described the swelling as a hard lump, it is important to rule out other potential causes beyond simple inflammation.
Next Steps
To confirm the diagnosis and determine the exact nature of the swelling, we recommend proceeding with a Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC). This is a simple, safe, and effective test that will help us make an accurate diagnosis and guide further management accordingly.

If the swelling has not resolved after course of antibiotics then it is advisable to get FNAC of the lymph node.
