Swollen feet

My mothers both feet are swollen. She has been a diabetic for several years. And has diabetic neuropathy. There was a cut on one of her fingers which didn't heal. And now theres clear liquid coming out of it. And she's worried that it might turn to gangrin. How to recognize gangrin? And do diabetologists look after feet or are there different doctors for that? Is it because of neuropathy? How to check nerves in her feet. I'll be taking her to hospital tomorrow.

Diabetologists looks after feet too and they can always refer you to the right surgeon if necessary. Signs of gangrene are black discolouration, pain with or without swelling and fever. Would not healing could be due to diabetes and neuropathy
