Suffer from a red patches on skin
Sir my child suffering from some skin problem. accidentally a red patches arise on his body with itching.it remains for two days. I take him to the skin specialist they said it's urticaria they give some antihistamine like cetrizine and some ointment like propylgenta and t top ointment but for some time it cure but at the same time another area another patches occurs.please tell me how long the treatment will need can it currable or not I am worried about this. Thanks
Your child is suffering from what Dermatologist call urticaria. Common causes are food allergy, infection or drugs taken for some condition. It presents with itching resulting in formation of red rashes which we call hives or wheals. Although in most cases cause remains unknown in spite of a thorough search. It can be symptomatically treated with medicines so that you do not get any new hives. The treatment should be prolonged until it resolves which usually takes 1 to 6 months.
